The $6 million, Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Classic is run at 1 ¼ miles on the main track at Churchill Downs. It is the highlight event of the weekend and is the premier race for older horses each year. With the retirement of Triple Crown winner Justify, the Classic division has been rather wide open. One of the top older horses from the East Coast, Diversify, will miss the race as well.
