Description:

Aktabantay has been scratched out of the Oct. 31 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf (gr. IT) because of a stress fracture in his right rear leg caused by kicking his stall, according to Breeders' Cup officials.

The incident occurred several days ago and the colt's connections monitored him. Some heat in the area of the injury was detected Oct. 30 and the decision was made to scratch.

A 2-year-old British-bred son of Oasis Dream, Atkabantay is trained by H. Palmer for owner V. I. Araci. He was listed at 12-1 on the morning line and would have been ridden by Olivier Peslier from the 9 post in the one-mile grass test.

From six starts, the colt has won a maiden and the European Wealth Solario Stakes (Eng-III) and finished second in the Superlative Stakes (Eng-II).
