Paulassilverlining will carry high weight of 121 pounds against six foes going one mile in the $250,000 Tempted Stakes (gr. III) for 2-year-old fillies at Aqueduct Nov. 2.
Paulassilverlining, by Ghostzapper , won the Matron Stakes (gr. II) at Belmont Park in October by 1 1/4 lengths going six furlongs. She is versatile enough to stalk or lay farther off the pace, and has won two of her three starts for owner Vincent Scuderi and trainer Michelle Nevin.
The other stakes winner in the field is Harlan's Honor, a Harlan’s Holiday filly who won the Colleen Stakes at Monmouth Park in August by four lengths on the turf going five furlongs. A subsequent run in the Selima Stakes at Laurel Park in September didn’t go as well, as she finished fourth, beaten three lengths over turf.
A trio of impressive first-out maiden winners will contend here. Jacaranda, by Congrats , won in the mud at Belmont by five lengths in her first career start. Enchantress, by Malibu Moon , was equally as impressive at Keeneland, winning her debut by 6 3/4 lengths.Miss Always Ready won in the slop at Belmont by 5 3/5 lengths in early October in her first start.
Sunday Sonnet is stakes-placed going two turns on the Saratoga Race Course grass, running second in the P.G. Johnson Stakes before heading to Santa Anita Park for a fifth-place finish in the Chandelier Stakes (gr. I).Save Rock and Roll broke her maiden at first asking but ran fifth in the Sorority Stakes and was well beaten by Paulassilverlining in the Matron.
