Oscar Performance Settles in at Mill Ridge Farm

Four-time grade 1 winner Oscar Performance  is back at Mill Ridge Farm, where he was foaled and raised, to prepare to enter stud next year. The son of Kitten's Joy  will stand for $20,000.

Bred by Jerry Amerman and raced by John and Jerry Amerman of Amerman Racing, Oscar Performance won a graded stakes each year from 2 to 4. As a juvenile, he won the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf (G1T) at Santa Anita Park and the Pilgrim Stakes (G3T) at Belmont Park. At 3, Oscar Performance earned more than $1 million and won three of seven starts, including the Belmont Derby Invitational Stakes (G1T) and the Secretariat Stakes (G1T). At 4, he broke a 20-year-old Belmont track record when he won the one-mile Poker Stakes (G3T) in 1:31.23, and he also took the Ricoh Woodbine Mile Stakes (G1T). He compiled an 8-0-1 record out of 15 starts and retired with $2,345,696 in earnings. The Amermans raced him Lasix-free.

Oscar Performance is out of the Theatrical stakes-winning daughter Devine Actress. The mare also produced Oscar Nominated, a multiple grade 1-placed, grade 3 winner and full brother to Oscar Performance, and winner Emmy Performance, a daughter by Point of Entry.
