Midshipman Filly Brings Top Price of Day at Keeneland

Blue Sky Stables went to $50,000 Nov. 15 for a weanling filly by Midshipman , the top price of the 11th session of the Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale.

Keeneland sold 134 horses that totaled $775,500 for an average of $5,787 and a $3,000 median. There are no comparable figures from 2017. Cumulatively through 11 sessions of the 12-day sale, 2,420 horses have grossed $187,966,900 for an average of $77,672 and a median of $30,000.

Taylor Made Sales Agency, agent, consigned the session-topper, who is out of the winning Wildcat Heir mare Dancing My Way and from the family of grade 3 winner Marshua's Echelon.

With the purchase of the filly, Blue Sky Stables was the session's leading buyer.

Two horses sold for $45,000 apiece to be the second-highest price of the day.

Levy Bloodstock purchased the first, Fantastic Girl, a 3-year-old daughter of Pioneerof the Nile  cataloged as a racing or broodmare prospect. Consigned by Paramount Sales, agent, she is out of stakes winner Ayla Bella, by Touch Gold, and is a half sister to stakes-placed Lucky for You.

Also bringing $45,000 was a weanling filly by Point of Entry  sold to Renee Dailey, agent. Gainesway, agent, consigned the daughter of the winning Grand Slam mare Grand Finesse who is from the family of grade 1 winner Brocco.

Paramount Sales was the session's leading consignor with sales of $165,000 for 20 horses.
