Description:

Calculator, a 15-1 morning line shot seeking his first career win, has been scratched out of the Nov. 1 Sentient Jets Breeders' Cup Juvenile (gr. I) at Santa Anita Park.

Meanwhile, after overnight and morning rainfall, the main track and turf are both rated good.

Ruben Albarado, chief assistant to trainer Peter Miller, said Calculator was scratched from the $2 million Juvenile Saturday morning because of a lingering foot injury.

"The foot has been bothering him the last couple of days," said Albarado of the left front foot. "There was still a little heat there this morning. We consulted with the vet and blacksmith and decided not to go. We need a couple of weeks to fix him."

Calculator, a maiden by In Summation  , was runner-up in both the Del Mar Futurity (gr. I) and FrontRunner Stakes (gr. I). He was to have started from the rail in the 1 1/16-mile race over a track rated good after overnight rain that continued early Saturday morning.

Two non-Breeders' Cup stakes on the card that were to be contested over the 6 1/2-furlong downhill turf course have been moved from the grass. The Juvenile Turf Sprint and the Senator Ken Maddy Stakes will now be run at the same distance on the main track.

In a tweet, trainer Graham Motion said Stars Above Me had been scratched out of the Ken Maddy because of the surface change, adding "so much for 'it never rains in California'."

The Breeders' Cup turf races remain on the grass.

The main track was sealed overnight and there was no training over it Saturday morning. At about 7:30 a.m. crews began harrowing it to get it ready for the first race at 10:15 a.m.

Rainfall was intermittent early in the morning, but the forecast was calling for clearing later.
