Affordable Winter Coats for Racetrack and Beyond

This coat is also perfect for a day at the office by layering it over a button-up blouse ($16, BooHoo) and straight-legged trousers for $30 from Uniqlo. The bow-accented loafers are $45 from Yes Style, the Aldo watch is $25 and the earrings are $48 from Henri Bendel. Throw your laptop, phone and chargers in this $28 tote from Forever21 and head to work looking great for $258 (including the $66 for the coat.)

How beautiful is this $51 coat from BlackFive? Its graphite color is ultra-modern, and its retro-mod shape was all over the fall/winter runways. For the races, layer it over this $32 dress from Miss Selfridge and add a pair of dove-hued boots for $70 from Aerosoles.  Create drama with a silk scarf for just $9.99 from Amazon and a beautiful horse bit enamel cuff for $35 from Pink Mascara. The tote is $30 from Body Central, and top it all off with an eye-catching ruby fedora for $25 from BlackFive. All together, this race-ready look will run you $252.99.

If you need to run some errands this weekend, there’s no reason not to do them in style! I took our $51 coat from the last look and paired it with a cozy slim-fit hoodie ($13, Amazon) and some olive jeans for $35 from BooHoo.com. The Penny Loves Kenny over-the-knee boots are on-trend, comfortable and affordable at $50; and the $40 Dasein convertible bag is both easy to sling over your shoulder and provides that necessary pop of color. Finish the ensemble with a $5.98 set of rings from Spring Street and a pair of aviators for $5.80 from Forever21 and you’re out the door for $200.78.

I love this the faux-fur collar on this $60 Yoins coat; it’s cozy and glamorous all once. To get this look to the track, I paired it with a sweater dress for $44 from Maurice’s; then I added some warm tights for $16 from HUE and a cute pair of Mary Janes for $49 from Dorothy Parker. I love the $98 quilted handbag from Betsey Johnson –it’s a little pricier than most things I feature in these pieces, but it’s versatile, memorable, and it has a bow. I can’t resist it. The watch is $20 from Charlotte Russe, the Fornash horse bit earrings are $25 and the wide-brim felt hat is $25 from Necessary Clothing; all together, this look is perfect for a day playing the ponies and will cost you $337 for top to toe.

The cooler weather translates into lots of holiday parties, and our centerpiece coat is festive enough to get you to any social event in style. To get this look to cocktails, I layered it over a fabulous gold scalloped sequin dress for $40 from Charlotte Russe. The simple but chic clutch is just $20 from Forever21, the bangle is $25 from Sole Society and the Bansri earcuff is $20. Trench coats are a staple of any wardrobe in the fall and winter months, and this $37 Umlife version is a standout thanks to the delicate pleating on the skirt. A new year can bring new changes in your life; if one of those changes includes a job interview, a classic trench is a great way to make a good first impression on a prospective employer. Layer the trench over a $33 work-appropriate dress from Six Kisses, then add some ribbed tights from Sperry for $16. Loafers ($70, Alfani) and a Purse Boutique handbag that looks much more expensive than the $50 it costs.
