Description:
Fed Biz  , a three-time grade II winner who set a pair of Del Mar track records, has been retired and will stand in 2015 at WinStar Farm near Versailles, Ky. His fee has been set at $12,500 stands and nurses.

The 5-year-old son of Giant's Causeway compiled a 6-3-3 career line from 19 starts and earned $770,496 for owner Kaleem Shah and trainer Bob Baffert.

His record includes grade II victories in the 2013 San Fernando Stakes (gr. II) at 1 1/16 miles at Santa Anita Park and Pat O'Brien Stakes (gr. II) at seven furlongs at Del Mar, and in this year's San Diego Handicap at 1 1/16 miles at Del Mar. Both of those Del Mar wins were accomplished in track record times.

In the final start of his career, Fed Biz finished seventh in the Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile (gr. I) Oct. 31.

"Fed Biz is an awesome physical by a proven sire of sires, Giant's Causeway," said WinStar president and CEO Elliott Walden. "He profiles identically to Distorted Humor  . Both are good-looking, well-bred multiple grade II winners with similar earnings, and both are track record-setters at seven furlongs at major racetracks.

"Both were also very sound and ran until 5. Add to it that Fed Biz is closely related to top sires Pulpit, Tale of the Cat  , and Johannesburg on the dam's side. He has every chance to be a top WinStar stallion for the next 15 years."

Fed Biz was a $950,000 yearling purchase by Baffert at the 2010 Keeneland September sale and represents the highest-priced yearling at public auction sired by Giant's Causeway's since 2008. The bay horse was produced by the Wild Again mare Spunoutacontrol, a stakes-winning half-sister to Tale of the Cat and Myth, the dam of Johannesburg. Fed Biz's second dam, Yarn, is a full sister to the dam of Pulpit.

"I've trained a lot of good-looking horses, but Fed Biz is a horse I saw in the back ring at Keeneland and had to have," Baffert said.

Fed Biz will be available for inspection at WinStar starting Monday, Nov. 10.
