Grade 1 winner Ralis has been purchased by trainer Glen Todd and will stand in British Columbia in 2019, Todd said Nov. 24.
Campaigned by Reddam Racing and conditioned by Doug O'Neill, the California-bred son of Square Eddie won the 2015 Hopeful Stakes (G1) and placed in four other stakes in his career, including a runner-up effort in the 2016 Del Mar Derby (G2T).
He was retired from racing in February of 2017 because of a tendon injury, but was returned to training in 2018 and competed in two claiming races before he was sold to Todd, who then gave the stallion as a gift to the Canadian Thoroughbred Horse Society: British Columbia Division. He'll stand for a Can$2,000 (US$1,510) fee in 2019.

"(Jockey) Mario (Gutierrez) called me and asked if I wanted him, and I said, if the breeders wanted him, I'd take him," Todd said. "That's exactly what happened."
Ralis' profile got a bump Saturday, when his full sister, Make Happy, impressively won the Cattleya Sho at Tokyo Racecourse on the Japan Road to the Kentucky Derby. Both are out of the Ten Most Wanted mare Silar Rules.
