Description:

The Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association has scheduled an educational Thoroughbred ownership seminar for Saturday, Dec. 6, at Gulfstream Park.

The seminar, sponsored by Blood-Horse Publications, will feature discussions on the owner/trainer dynamic, options for acquiring horses, business topics, Thoroughbred retirement, and resources for owners. Participants also will have the opportunity to watch morning workouts moderated by trainer Kathy Ritvo. The seminar will conclude with a private lunch and races at Gulfstream Park.

Speakers include Hall of Fame trainer Nick Zito, Robb Levinsky of Kenwood Racing, trainer David Fawkes, attorney Amanda Simmons Luby of Shutts & Bowen LLP, Maria Cruz Gonzalez of the CPA firm Hernandez & Company, Erin Crady of Thoroughbred Charities of America, and Susan Martin of Equineline.com.

"As a Thoroughbred owner and racing fan myself, I see the huge benefit in providing educational opportunities for people getting into ownership or still considering ownership," said horse owner and panelist Luby. "There is always more to learn, no matter your level of involvement in the sport."

The seminar agenda is available at www.toba.org. TOBA members receive a discounted rate for each ownership seminar held throughout the year.
