All three Thoroughbred tracks in Pennsylvania should soon be able to offer sports wagering.

GoErie.com reported this month that Presque Isle Downs & Casino has petitioned the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board to offer sports wagering. That request follows Parx Racing and Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course being awarded sports betting licenses in October, with the latter launching operations in November to be the state's first track to offer sports wagering.

In February Churchill Downs Inc. announced an agreement to purchase Presque Isle Downs. That deal is expected to close this quarter.

The GoErie.com story noted that Presque Isle's license request includes offering sports betting on site as well as on mobile and internet platforms to anyone in the state. The paper reported that if the application is approved, the racino would pay a $10 million fee for a sports wagering license.
