Sparkling Review and Heart to Heart dominated the opposition on Saturday at Churchill Downs in the Mrs. Revere Stakes and the Commonwealth Turf Stakes, respectively.
Saturday’s card featured a pair of graded stakes on the grass for 3-year-olds: the Grade 2 Mrs. Revere for fillies and the Grade 3 Commonwealth Turf for males.
Sparkling Review closed powerfully in the stretch under Julien Leparoux and inhaled pacesetter Kiss Moon en route to a 2 ¾-length victory in the Mrs. Revere.
The bay Lemon Drop Kid filly extended her winning streak to four for trainer Ben Colebrook and owners Beverly Anderson and Edward Seltzer.
Sparkling Review disappointed on a muddy track in her career debut but has been dominant in four subsequent starts, all on the grass. She won her stakes debut in the Grade 3 Valley View Stakes at Keeneland Race Course in her previous start on Oct. 17 and confirmed her class in the Mrs. Revere.
“She’s got such an unbelievable turn of foot,” Colebrook said. “It’s pretty crazy when you think about the fact that she was just a maiden in August.”

With four wins in five starts, Sparkling Review has earned $303,642.
Seltzer bred the filly in Kentucky out of multiple stakes-placed winner Pleasant Review, by Pleasant Tap. Pleasant Review is a half-sister (same dam [mother], different sire [father]) to Grade 1 winners Another Review and No Review and a full-sister (same dam, same sire) to multiple graded stakes winner Dance Colony.
Heart to Heart Coasts in Commonwealth Turf

Heart to Heart has found a home on the grass.
The English Channel colt improved to four wins in five starts on the grass and extended his winning streak to three in the Grade 3 Commonwealth Turf Stakes.
Ridden by Leparoux, Heart to Heart broke alertly and opened up a clear early lead in the 1 1/16-mile race. He put away the opposition on the final turn and surged to a 3 ¾-length romp, completing the distance in 1:41.54.
“I think one of this horse’s biggest assets is how well he runs the turns,” said winning trainer Brian Lynch, who conditions Heart to Heart for owner Terry Hamilton. “He really ran around the first turn smoothly, relaxed down the backside and accelerated into that last turn really well. I think his acceleration in the turns allows him to get an advantage on the other horses and by the time they straightened up down the lane, he was full of confidence.”
“He certainly loves the two turns and loves Churchill Downs.”
After making his first five starts on synthetic surfaces, Heart to Heart won by 6 ¼ lengths in his turf debut in the spring at Keeneland Race Course, where he led from start to finish. He subsequently made a pair of starts on the Polytrack surface at Woodbine, including an unplaced finish in the Queen’s Plate Stakes.
Since then he has thrived on the turf. Heart to Heart faded to third after setting the pace in the Toronto Cup Stakes in July at Woodbine before leading from start to finish in August at Saratoga Race Course in the Better Talk Now Stakes. He then won his graded stakes debut on Sept. 27 at Churchill in the Grade 3 Jefferson Cup, taking command at the start and rolling to a 4-length runaway.
Hamilton purchased Heart to Heart as a yearling at auction in Canada for $25,348. He improved to five wins in 12 starts with the Commonwealth Turf victory and boosted his earning to $329,807.
