Perry Martin and Steve Coburn's homebred California Chrome is preparing for his first career start on turf in the Hollywood Derby (gr. IT) Nov. 29 at Del Mar. California Chrome finished a close third in the Breeders' Cup Classic (gr. I) Nov. 1 at Santa Anita Park in his most recent start.
Monday's work was the seventh fastest of 17 reported at the distance at Los Alamitos on a fast track.
