Description:
Shared Belief, a candidate for year-end honors, returned to the track at Golden Gate Fields Nov. 18 for his first workout since losing his unbeaten record in the Nov. 1 Breeders' Cup Classic (gr. I).

The son of Candy Ride went three furlongs on the all-weather track in a handy :36 4/5, a time that ranked third of six at the distance.

"He did it nicely," co-owner Jim Rome said in a post on his Jungle Racing's Facebook page. "Great to have him back at the track. Let's see how he comes out of it."

Rome campaigns Shared Belief in partnership with trainer Jerry Hollendorfer, KMN Racing, Jason Litt, George Todaro, and Alex Solis II. The gelding entered the Classic unbeaten in seven career starts and was sent off the 5-2 favorite, but he finished fourth behind Bayern, Toast of New York, and California Chrome after Bayern broke inwardly and slammed into him a couple of strides out of the gate. After subsequent review of the race, stewards let the result stand.

Last year's champion 2-year-old male, Shared Belief posted wins this year in the Los Alamitos Derby (gr. II), TVG Pacific Classic (gr. I), and Awesome Again Stakes (gr. I).
