Rancho San Miguel's multiple grade 2-winning stallion Danzing Candy had his first reported foal arrive Jan. 5 at Woodbridge Farm near Oakdale, Calif.
Bred by Premier Thoroughbreds, the filly is out of the stakes-placed winner Ms Glory Be, a daughter of Monarchos and earner of more than $228,000.
Sue Greene, owner and operator of Woodbridge Farm described the filly as: "Quality from top to bottom and head to tail. She stands up so pretty. She looks like a foal of several weeks old. Nice bone, correct, and a lot like her sire. Very solid."
Danzing Candy covered 129 mares during his first season at stud last year.
A son of Twirling Candy , Danzing Candy won two grade 2 stakes and three graded stakes overall while racing from 2 to 4. He retired with a 6-1-1 record out of 11 starts and earned $700,930. The 5-year-old stallion is out of Talkin and Singing (by Songandaprayer) and is a closely related half brother to multiple black-type winner Cedartown, who is by Twirling Candy's sire Candy Ride .
Danzing Candy's second dam is stakes-placed winner Bendita, the dam of five-time grade 1 winner and $4.3 million earner Better Talk Now, graded-placed, stakes winner B.A. Way, and graded-placed Beat the Play, who has produced Japan-based millionaire Medaglia Beat.
Danzing Candy was bred in Kentucky by Halo Farms and raced for the partnership of Jim and Dianne Bashor and Halo Farms. He stands for $5,000 this year.
