Already a two-time stakes winner on the Polytrack at Woodbine, filly Brooklynsway will try to pick up a third stakes score over the track Nov. 29 when she faces males for the first time in the $250,000 Coronation Futurity.
J. R. Racing Stable’s Brooklynsway enters Saturday’s 1 1/8-mile race for 2-year-olds foaled in Canada off a one-length score in the Princess Elizabeth Stakes at 1 1/16 miles race for Canadian-bred fillies. The daughter of Giant Gizmo placed second in the Mazarine Stakes (Can-III) in her start before the Princess Elizabeth and three starts ago won the 6 1/2-furlong OLG Muskoka Stakes.
A second filly in the field is Gary Barber's Shez a Masterpiece, who finished one length behind Brooklynsway in her first start against winners after hopping at the start. Mark Casse trains the daughter of Mast Track , to be ridden by Patrick Husbands.
The expected field of 10 also includes Benjamin Hutzel homebred Passion for Action, a son of Speightstown who enters off a clear win Oct. 12 on the Woodbine turf in the Cup and Saucer Stakes.
