Blueskiesnrainbows , a son of English Channel , has been relocated from Indiana and will stand the 2019 breeding season at Sunlight Farm near Sallisaw, Okla. The farm is the home base of owner Kelly Mitchell's Bad Boy Racing. The stallion will stand for $2,500.
Blueskiesnrainbows, a three-time graded stakes winner of $672,552, is the most successful runner produced by Cho Cho San (by Deputy Minister). He is half brother to two other black-type winners—Cho Cho Cat and Choo Choo.
"We are really excited to move Blueskiesnrainbows to Oklahoma to be a part of their excellent state-bred program," said Dr. Marcinda Mitchell, a veterinarian and manager of Sunlight Farm. "He first foals will hit the track this year as 2-year-olds. His foals are looking fantastic and should prove themselves very soon.
"My family was an early part of Oklahoma horse racing with my mom, Delores, serving on the first racing commission, my father, Bob, raising, racing, and standing fine Thoroughbreds here at Sunlight Farm in Sallisaw, and my brother, Kelly, owning former Oklahoma horse of the year Slew O Mink. It is so exciting to be involved with the Oklahoma-bred program again."
Blueskiesnrainbows won all his earnings on dirt as the wire-to-wire winner of both the grade 2 San Pasqual Stakes (defeating Majestic Harbor and Drill ) and the grade 2 Swaps Stakes (defeating Liaison ). He was second in the Breeder's Cup Marathon (G2) and third by a half-length in the Santa Anita Derby (G1) to dual classic winner I'll Have Another and millionaire Creative Cause .
