Colby Hernandez Rides 2,000th Winner

Jockey Colby Hernandez rode the 2,000th winner of his career Feb. 1 aboard Tigertail Ranch's Crocodile Jacques in the third race at Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots for trainer Victor Arceneaux.

Hernandez, 30, is third in the jockey standings at the Fair Grounds meet with 36 victories, trailing only James Graham and Adam Beschizza. The native of Opelousas, La., began his riding career in 2006 and has won at least 100 races for 12 straight years (2007-18).

"It's been a fun journey," Hernandez said. "I just want to thank all the trainers and owners that have supported me this whole way. It's been fun. To get the milestone win here at Fair Grounds means a lot. It's a tough colony, and it means the world to me."

Hernandez is represented by agent Tony Martin.
