The inaugural Gulfstream Park West meet closed Nov. 30, with Edgard Zayas and Antonio Sano taking the respective jockey and trainer titles, and Frank Calabrese and White Wabbit Wacing tying atop the owner standings.

"We're extremely pleased with the results of our first meet at Gulfstream Park West. Our racing office did a tremendous job of producing competitive, full fields each race day," said Tim Ritvo, Gulfstream Park president and chief operating officer of The Stronach Group.

Handle figures for the meet were not released.

Zayas rode two winners on Sunday's final card, following up his Gulfstream Park summer meet title. The 21-year-old native of Puerto Rico prevailed over Hall of Fame rider Edgar Prado, 51-42.

Sano clinched the training title over Marcus Vitali and Jorge Navarro, visiting the Gulfstream Park West winner's circle on 22 occasions. Vitali finished with 20 winners, while Navarro finished third with 18.

Calabrese and White Wabbit Wacing had 13 wins each to lead the owner standings.

Under a lease agreement with Churchill Downs Inc., Gulfstream Park held the 44-day meet at its South Florida neighbor previously known as Calder Race Course, renaming the track Gulfstream Park West.

Racing now shifts to Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach.

"We look forward to the opening of our Championship Meet Saturday, Dec. 6 at Gulfstream Park with the $1 million Claiming Crown," Ritvo said. "We believe it will be a great way to kick off the winter season."

The Claiming Crown is an eight-stakes showcase for claiming horses.
