Erik and Pavla Nygaard's Ocala Jockey Club announced the arrival of the first reported foal by its first-crop sire Irish Surf .

Bred by Pete Cox, who is also the stallion manager at Ocala Jockey Club, the filly born Feb. 7 is out of grade 3 winner Rizzi Girl, a daughter of Afleet's graded stakes-winning son Rizzi. The mare has already produced three winners from six foals to race.

Irish Surf is a grade 3-winning son of Giant's Causeway, who captured the 2014 Cougar II Handicap (G3) in near gate-to-wire fashion by 8 1/4 lengths. Campaigned by the Nygaard's Thor-Bred Stable along with his breeder Gainseway, Irish Surf was also runner-up that year in the Las Vegas Marathon Stakes (G2) as part of the Breeders' Cup World Championships undercard. He retired with a 3-2-4 record out of 25 starts and earned $278,945.

The 9-year-old stallion is the best runner out of champion Surfside (by Seattle Slew) and a half brother to multiple stakes-placed winner Shark (by Danzig) and four other winners.

Irish Surf stands at Ocala Jockey Club for $5,000.
