In the NTRA top 3-year-old poll, War of Will moved up one spot, from third to second

An emphatic victory by War of Will in the grade 2 Risen Star Stakes presented by Lamarque Ford Feb. 16 at Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots was enough to elevate the Mark Casse trainee to the No. 2 position behind champion Game Winner in this week's National Thoroughbred Racing Association top 3-year-old poll.

Owned by Gary Barber, War of Will captured the Risen Star by 2 1/4-lengths to remain unbeaten in three tries on dirt. The son of War Front  garnered five first-place votes and 304 total points to move up one position in the poll, which had no new additions to its top ten and saw Improbable fall to third.

Votes for the poll released Feb. 19 were counted before the running of the Feb. 18 Southwest Stakes (G3) at Oaklawn Park, which was won by Super Steed.
