Owner John Oxley, trainer Mark Casse, and jockey Patrick Husbands were once again atop the Woodbine standings when the track concluded its 2014 season Dec. 7.
Oxley led all owners as his runners amassed $2,442,683 (Candian dollars) in purse earnings, bettering his meet-leading $2,235,359 in 2013. Oxley also recorded the most wins during the eight-month long meet with 30. Sam-Son Farms finished second with $1,807,655 in purse earnings, while Gary Barber, owner of classic-winning filly
Lexie Lou, finished third with $1,571,101.
Casse recorded his eighth straight training title and ninth overall, winning 93 races, after notching 85 wins in 2013. He also led in the purse earnings category, with $7,780,240 compared with $5,447,130 in 2013.
Nick Gonzalez, fifth a year ago, was second with 56 wins, improving on his 30 triumphs in 2013. Bob Tiller, who was second in the standings with 62 wins last year, was third with 50 wins this season.
Husbands finished as the leading rider with 170 wins in 2014, securing his seventh leading rider title. Luis Contreras, three times the meet's leading rider, finished second with 163 wins.
Mickey Walls' 1991 record of 221 wins remains the most victories posted in a single meet.
