Kodiac Sets Record for 2YO Winners

Description:
Irish-based sire Kodiac set a Northern Hemisphere record for individual 2-year-old winners in a year when his son Cry No More debuted Nov. 30 in Sweden, becoming number 43 of 2014.

The victory eclipses the previous record of 42 juvenile winners set in 2010 by Kodiac's half brother Invincible Spirit and matched in 2012 by Kheleyf.

First-time starter Cry No More won the 1,200-meter (about six-furlong) race at Taby for Catharina Vang, who trains the gelding for a partnership. He is out of the Street Cry mare Summer Cry.

Kodiac's juvenile winners this year are led by Cheveley Park Stakes (Eng-I) winner Tiggy Wiggy and listed winners Kodi Bear and Patience Alexander.

A 13-year-old son of Danehill out of the 1990 Prix de Diane (Fr-I, French Oaks) winner Rafha, by Kris, Kodiac has five crops racing. He stands in Ireland at Tally-Ho Stud, where he will command a £25,000 fee in 2015.
