The connection to Vivien Malloy's Edition Farm and New York sire A Shin Forward  has come full circle.

Edition Farm bred the son of Forest Wildcat, out of the Cure the Blues stakes winner Wake Up Kiss, who was eventually sold to Hirotsugu Hirai and became a grade 1 winner in Japan. A Shin Forward entered stud in Japan at Lex Stud in 2013 and stood there until he was relocated to Rockridge Stud in New York's Hudson Valley in 2018. Now Edition Farm is the breeder of A Shin Forward's first North American foal.

The sire's first American foal born March 5 is a filly out of Edition Farm homebred Miney's Awesome, a winning daughter of Awesome Again . The mare is a half sister to black-type winners Minetonightsfirst (by D'Accord) and Pooska Hill (Phantom Jet) and has already produced seven winners from eight foals to race.

A Shin Forward raced from 2 to 6 in Japan and Hong Kong, compiling a 6-3-3 record in 31 starts and earned $3,416,216, making him the all-time leading New York-bred by turf earnings. His best win came in the 2010 Mile Championship Stakes (G1) at Kyoto. Earlier in 2010 he finished third in the Takamatsunomiya Kinen (G1) and won the Hankyu Hai (G3).

As a sire, A Shin Forward has been represented by 17 winners from 28 runners. He stands at Rockridge Stud this year for $3,500.
