With 1,221 entries, the catalog for the Ocala Breeders' Sales 2019 Spring Sale of 2-Year-Olds in Training April 23-26 is now available via the OBS website at obssales.com.
The number cataloged is one fewer than the 1,222 cataloged last year in which OBS posted record across-the-board figures, with 707 sold for a total of $69,429,500, up 13.9% from the previous year. The average price last year of $98,203 was up 9.2%; the median rose 15.5% to $55,000.
According to OBS, since the beginning of 2018, 66 spring sale graduates won or placed 111 times in graded stakes, with 17 accounting for 27 graded wins. A total of 178 have won or placed 360 times in stakes races with 70 amassing 107 stakes victories.
With all sessions beginning at 10:30 a.m. EDT, Hips 1-304 will sell Tuesday, April 23, Hips 305-608 Wednesday, Hips 609-912 will be offered Thursday, and Hips 913-1221 Friday.
The under tack show will span six days, beginning Monday, April 15th and continuing through Saturday, April 20. Hips 1-203 will breeze Monday, Hips 204-406 go Tuesday, Hips 407-608 Wednesday, Hips 609-813 go Thursday, Hips 814-1017 Friday and Hips 1018-1221 go Saturday. All six sessions will begin at 8 a.m. The under tack show and the sale will be streamed live via the OBS website as well as the DRF, TDN and BloodHorse websites.
The online catalog's main page contains a link to a sortable master index providing searchable pedigree and consignor information as well as access to pedigree updates occurring since the catalog was printed.
The sortable master index has been updated with advanced search and filter capability to allow shortlist creation. A link to instructions for using the new features can be found in the index header. Sales results will be available on the OBS website, updated hourly during each session of the Spring Sale.
