Multiple graded stakes winner Blofeld was represented by his first reported foal when a filly out of Stormin Casey was born March 1 at Audrey Murray's Murmur Farm in Maryland.
Bred by David Baxter, the filly is the 10th foal out of the winning In Case daughter Stormin Casey, whom Baxter bred and raced in the name of Narrow Leaf Farm. The mare has produced nine winners from as many to race, including Real Property (by Real Quiet), who earned more than $180,000.
"We couldn't be more pleased with the first offspring of Blofeld," Murray said. "She has plenty of leg and a lot of class."
Blofeld, a 7-year-old son of Quality Road out of the Storm Cat stakes winner Storm Minstrel, was bought for $225,000 at Fasig-Tipton's Florida Sale in 2014 by Joe Minor's JSM Equine and Greathouse Properties from Ciaran Dunne's Wavertree Stables consignment. With trainer Todd Pletcher, Blofeld won the Futurity Stakes (G2) and Nashua Stakes (G2) at 2, and the Gulfstream Park Handicap (G2) at 4. He retired with a 4-0-1 record out of 14 starts and earned $745,420.
Blofeld stands for $4,000 this year at Murmur Farm near Darlington, Md.
