Preakness (gr. I) runner-up Itsmyluckyday, pulled up in the Pegasus Stakes (gr. III) in June with what was later diagnosed as a fractured Ilium, a bone in the pelvic region, is coming along well, trainer Eddie Plesa Jr. said Aug. 10.

"Itsmyluckyday is doing outstanding," Plesa said from Monmouth Park. "He's still under stall rest until the first of October. The very end of September we'll send him in for a bone scan to see how that Ilium's healing. Mentally he's doing great, physically he looks great, so I'm anticipating a big 4-year-old year for him."

Itsmyluckyday was traveling down the backstretch in Monmouth's Pegasus June 16 while pressing front-running Verrazano when jockey Mike Smith noticed something amiss and pulled him up near the five-furlong mark.

The Pegasus was Itsmyluckyday's first start since his runner-up effort behind Oxbow in the May 18 Preakness. The dark bay son of Lawyer Ron was also second in the Besilu Stables Florida Derby (gr. I) prior to running 15th in the Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I).

Itsmyluckyday has won five of his 13 career races thus far, with his most notable stakes win being in the Holy Bull (gr. III). Out of the Doneraile Court mare Viva La Slew, Itsmyluckyday has accumulated $830,100 in lifetime earnings for owners Trilogy Stable and Laurie Plesa.
