A colt by Triple Crown winner American Pharoah was purchased on a final bid of $1.65 million late in the afternoon of The Gulfstream Sale March 27. He was purchased by Jamie McCalmont, agent for M.V. Magnier.
Consigned as Hip 142 by Eddie Woods, agent, the colt was bred in Florida by CESA Farm and is out of the graded stakes-winning Tabasco Cat mare Spice Island, making him a half brother to Florida Derby (G1) winner Ice Box . He worked an eighth-mile in :10 2/5 during the March 25 under tack show.
