Anna's Fast breaks her maiden by 5 1/2 lengths on debut at Keeneland

Three Chimneys Farm's freshman sire Fast Anna  had his first winner from just his second starter April 24 when his 2-year-old daughter Anna's Fast easily defeated a field of six others in a Keeneland maiden special weight.

Anna's Fast sprinted clear with jockey Tyler Gaffalione aboard and led throughout the 4 1/2-furlong test to win first time out by 5 1/2 lengths for trainer Wesley Ward. The final time over the fast track was :52.50.

A successful pinhook by de Meric Stables, Anna's Fast was a recent purchase by Breeze Easy from the Ocala Breeders' Sales March 2-Year-Olds in Training Sale for $470,000. De Meric paid $32,500 for the filly at The July Sale, Fasig-Tipton's selected yearling sale in Kentucky. Anna's Fast breezed an eighth-mile in :09 4/5 during the OBS March presale workouts.

Bred in Kentucky by Amg Equine, Anna's Fast is out of the Yes It's True mare True Will, who also produced a Fast Anna yearling colt.

Fast Anna's first starter, Women Not Easy, finished fourth in an April 19 maiden race at Aqueduct Racetrack.

Three Chimneys acquired a majority interest in grade 1-placed Fast Anna prior to his retirement to stud in 2016. Owned and bred by Frank Calabrese, the son of Medaglia d'Oro  was trained by Katherine Ritvo and Wayne Catalano during his racing career.

A winner of three races from nine starts, Fast Anna has a stallion's pedigree. His dam is 2006 champion 2-year-old filly Dreaming of Anna, who also produced grade 3 winner Dreamologist.

Fast Anna stands for a fee of $7,500 for the 2019 breeding season.
