Description:

Former Minnesota Vikings head coach Mike Tice is not coaching in the National Football League this year for the first time since 1996, and Tice is taking advantage of the free time by showing off his prowess as a horse racing handicapper.
According to a story on ESPN.com, Tice hit the pick six at Del Mar twice in the last 10 days, including a winning $100,796 pick six on Aug. 8 at the seaside Southern California track.
The pick six requires bettors to correctly select the winners of six consecutive races.
From the ESPN story, written by Michael C. Wright:
“I'm a horse guy. [Del Mar] and Saratoga started, and throughout my football life, I've never been able to play them because I've always been in training camp.”
Tice also served as assistant head coach for the Jacksonville Jaguars and, most recently, as offensive coordinator of the Chicago Bears in 2012.
Two winning pick six tickets in less than a week is quite an accomplishment, perhaps he has a future as a professional handicapper. Tice said in the ESPN story that he did his homework, poring over the Daily Racing Form for two days before the big score.
ESPN reported that the other pick six that Tice won was for about $4,000 about a week beforehand when he visited Del Mar while on vacation. The six-figure pick six was placed from Tice’s advance-deposit-wagering account online.
