Description:

The New York Racing Association announced that Sean S. Perl has been named assistant racing secretary for Aqueduct Racetrack, Belmont Park, and Saratoga Race Course.

Perl, 28, who has been stakes coordinator and assistant racing secretary at Calder Casino & Race Course, graduated from the University of Arizona's Race Track Industry Program in 2008. Previous to Calder, he worked for Eclipse Award-winning trainer Todd Pletcher, with Denali Stud's Keeneland 2-year-old sales consignments, and with veteran horseman J. J. Crupi.

"Sean is a young man with a bright future and will be an excellent addition as we continue to build our racing team," said Martin Panza, NYRA senior vice president of racing operations. "As well as his enthusiasm for racing, he also brings with him fresh ideas along with valuable connections to south Florida horsemen."

"The New York Racing Association circuit is the pinnacle of racing and I look forward to working closely with the horsemen and the management team to help bring fans top-quality racing programs in New York," Perl said.
