Micromanage will try to open the 2015 racing season the way he ended 2014, with a stakes win on the inner track at Aqueduct Racetrack.
Repole Stable's Micromanage will start from the inside post in an expected field of seven older horses in the $100,000 Jazil Stakes on a Jan. 19, Monday holiday card at Aqueduct. Going out as an entry with Micromanage will be Repole Stable's Misconnect, who is trained by Bruce Levine while Todd Pletcher conditions Micromanage.
Micromanage closed out 2014 with a clear victory in the 1 1/8-mile Queens County Stakes Dec. 13 on the Aqeuduct inner track. The win gave the 5-year-old Medaglia d'Oro horse his third stakes win of the season, a collection that included the Skip Away Stakes (gr. III) at Gulfstream Park.
Awaiting the Repole entry will be Michael Dubb, Bethlehem Stables, and The Elkstone Group's Abraham, a 4-year-old son of Distorted Humor who in October won the Michael G. Schaefer Stakes at Indiana Grand Racing & Casino and closed the year with an off-the-board finish in the Hawthorne Gold Cup Handicap (gr. II).
