Maximum Security shows the way in the Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs
Maximum Security led almost every step of the Kentucky Derby Presented by Woodford Reserve (G1) May 4 but was placed 17th by the stewards due to interference. Despite the disqualification that awarded Country House the win, Maximum Security's performance placed him atop the National Thoroughbred Racing Association (NTRA) Top 3-Year-Old Poll. Bricks and Mortar, who won the Old Forester Turf Classic (G1) on the Kentucky Derby undercard at Churchill Downs, continues to lead the NTRA Top Thoroughbred Poll.
