Gary and Mary West's homebred Maximum Security, who was disqualified from first place in Saturday's Kentucky Derby Presented by Woodford Reserve (G1), has arrived at trainer Jason Servis' barn at Monmouth Park in Oceanport, N.J.
The son of New Year's Day was moved from first to 17th by the stewards after his 13/4-length score in the slop at Churchill Downs. The 9-2 second choice in the Run for the Roses, Maximum Security came to Louisville off a win in the Xpressbet Florida Derby (G1).
Gary West, on yesterday's "Today" show, announced Maximum Security would not be running in the May 18 Preakness Stakes (G1).
