Stormy Liberal, the two-time winner of the Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint (G1T) and 2018 champion male turf horse, graces the cover of the catalog for the Ocala Breeders' Sales June Sale of 2-Year-Olds in Training and Horses of Racing Age.
Offered by Wavertree Stables, Rockingham Ranch and David A. Bernsen's Stormy Liberal was purchased by Dennis O'Neill for $100,000 out of the 2014 edition of the sale and has won or placed in 24 of 33 starts, including 11 stakes, and earned more than $2.1 million.
The catalog for this year's sale, scheduled for June 12-14 in Ocala, Fla., is now online, with 997 juveniles and 17 older horses entered. Supplemental nominations are being accepted until May 22.
According to OBS, June graduates (horses that were sold or bought back) won or placed 163 times in stakes races, a rate of better than two per week, since the beginning of 2018.
With sessions beginning at 10 a.m. Hips 1-360 will sell Wednesday, June 12, followed by Hips 361-720 Thursday, and Hips 721-1014 plus supplemental entries will close out the auction Friday, June 14.
There are five under tack sessions. Hips 1-216 will go to the track Wednesday, June 5, Hips 217-432 will work Thursday, June 6, Hips 433-648 will breeze Friday, June 7, Hips 649-864 work Saturday, June 8, and 865-1014 plus supplements will go on Sunday, June 9. All under yack sessions begin at 7:30 a.m.
The under tack show and Sale will be streamed live via the OBS website as well as the DRF, TDN, and BloodHorse websites.
