Ramsey Farm's freshman sire and grade 1 winner We Miss Artie was represented by his first winner June 7 when his son Henry the Pirate won a maiden race at Hipódromo de las Américas by 7 1/4 lengths.
Ken and Sarah Ramsey, the owners of Ramsey Farm, bred the colt in Ontario out of the winning Touch Gold mare Reggae Rose. The mare has already produced multiple grade 3 winner Shakhimat and two other winners from six to race.
Ramsey Farm sold Henry the Pirate through the 2018 Fasig-Tipton October Yearling Sale for $8,000 to Klesko Farm. The colt is now raced by Cuadra S.C. and trained by Raul Rangel Rojas. Henry the Pirate won in his second start, having finished second by a nose in his debut May 17. In his start June 7, he broke quickly on top and steadily widened the margins against his five challengers throughout the 5 1/2-furlong contest. The final time was 1:07 2/5.
The Ramseys bought We Miss Artie at the 2012 Keeneland September Yearling Sale for $90,000 out of Cara Bloodstock's consignment. The son of Artie Schiller out of the winner Fusaichi Pegasus daughter Athena's Gift won at Saratoga Race Course in his second lifetime start and went on at 2 to win the Dixiana Breeders' Futurity (G1) at Keeneland. We Miss Artie won four of 11 starts and banked $738,843 in earnings before retiring to stud initially at Colebrook Farm Stallion Station in Ontario.
We Miss Artie was relocated to Ramsey Farm in 2018, where he stands for $5,000.
