Brazen Beau claimed his first European stakes winner and second overall as his daughter Avengers Queen toughed out the listed Premio Mario E Vittorio Crespi at San Siro.
The juvenile has already recouped her purchase price of £8,000 (US$10,316)—she was bought at the Goffs UK Premier Yearling Sale.
Agostino Affe's representative, who pulled out all the stops to beat favorite Aisa Dream by three-quarters of a length, was bred by Whitsbury Manor Stud out of Showstoppa, a winning daughter of its star stallion Showcasing.
Avengers Queen had already beaten that same rival in a maiden in Rome at the start of last month as well as taking fifth in listed company at the same track. She joins four other British juveniles on the stallion's honors board.
Brazen Beau, who is shuttling between Darley's Dalham Hall and Northwood Park in Victoria, claimed listed honors in Australia when Accession landed the Inglis Nursery at Randwick.
A grandson of Invincible Spirit through I Am Invincible, Brazen Beau was a champion sprinter in Australia who chased home Undrafted in the 2015 Diamond Jubilee Stakes (G1). A dual group 1 winner in Australia, he won the 2014 Coolmore Stud Stakes (G1) as a 3-year-old and the 2015 Lexus Newmarket Handicap.
He stands for £7,000 ($8,911) at Dalham Hall Stud this year.
