She's the Berries wins the 2018 La Prevoyante at Woodbine

With three straight victories, including a stakes score on the all-weather surface at Woodbine, She's the Berries will be on familiar ground when she seeks her first graded stakes win June 16 in the $125,000 Trillium Stakes (G3) at the Toronto track.

Brereton Jones' homebred She's the Berries closed out 2018 with consecutive clear wins at Woodbine, including a 2 1/4-lengths score in the La Prevoyante Stakes against 3-year-old fillies by Ontario stallions. The daughter of Badge of Silver then opened her 4-year-old season with a narrow victory in a 1 1/16-mile allowance race May 5 at Woodbine.

Trained by Mark Casse, She's the Berries will stay at the 1 1/16-mile distance in Sunday's Trillium for fillies and mares 3-and-older, which has attracted 11 entries.

Casse, who just completed a U.S. Triple Crown season in which he won the Preakness Stakes (G1) with War of Will and Belmont Stakes (G1) with Sir Winston, will also send out Gary Barber's Miss Mo Mentum, who won last year's Selene Stakes (G3) at Woodbine; as well as Barber's Summer Luck, who finished second to She's the Berries in the May 5 allowance race.

Also entered in the Trillium out of that allowance race are third-place finisher Ladies Night, fourth-place Dixie Moon, and fifth-place Cartabianca.

Stakes winner Bear Paw, campaigned by Bear Stables and breeder Colebrook Farms, will also try to secure her first graded stakes win. The daughter of Bear's Kid enters off a victory in an optional-claiming race May 26 at Woodbine for trainer Ashlee Brnjas.

"We're in good order," Brnjas said. "There are a lot of nice horses in this race, but I have absolutely nothing to complain about. I feel very privileged to train this horse."
