Seeking the Soul wins the Stephen Foster Stakes at Churchill Downs
Seeking the Soul guaranteed himself a spot in the Nov. 2 Breeders' Cup Classic (G1) when he rallied to win the June 15 Stephen Foster Stakes (G2) by a neck at Churchill Downs. The victory also earned him a spot back in the top 10 of the National Thoroughbred Racing Association Top Thoroughbred Poll.
The 6-year-old's runner-up performance in the Pegasus World Cup Invitational Stakes (G1) placed him in the top 10 when the NTRA's first poll was released in late January, but he had fallen off after running eighth and third, respectively, in the Dubai World Cup Sponsored by Emirates Airline (G1) and Alysheba Stakes presented by Sentient Jet (G2).
