Storm the Hill wins the Senator Ken Maddy Stakes at Santa Anita Park

Alastar Thoroughbred and Michael Valdes' Storm the Hill is scheduled to make her seasonal debut in the $100,000 Wilshire Stakes (G3T) June 22 at Santa Anita Park, a one-mile turf race for fillies and mares that she won last year by 1 1/2 lengths.

Trained by Philip D'Amato, Storm the Hill will be making her first start since closing 2018 with a clear victory in the Nov. 3 Senator Ken Maddy Stakes (G3T) on the hillside course at Santa Anita. The Get Stormy  mare has prepared for her 5-year-old debut with eight workouts since April 25, including three five-furlong moves this month on the training track at Santa Anita.

Rafael Bejarano, who was aboard in the Ken Maddy and the Wilshire, will guide Storm the Hill from post 2 in an expected field of 11.

Christopher Johnson's A Little Bit Me will stretch out after scoring a narrow victory sprinting 5 1/2 furlongs at Churchill Downs in the May 2 Unbridled Sidney Stakes. The 5-year-old daughter of The Factor  enters off four straight turf sprints, but last year placed twice in one-mile turf allowance/optional claiming races in Southern California.

Cloros Bloodstock's Simply Breathless will make her second start in the U.S. after winning the April 27 Golden Poppy Stakes at 1 1/16 miles on the turf at Golden Gate Fields. Flavien Prat was aboard that day and has the call.
