Fifty Five takes the Mount Vernon Stakes at Belmont Park

Peter Brant's Fifty Five will venture out of New York state for the first time in over two years, bringing a four-race win streak with her to Parx Racing's $200,000 Dr. James Penny Memorial Stakes (G3T) July 2.

The 5-year-old Get Stormy  mare trained by Chad Brown closed 2018 with scores in the the John Hettinger and Ticonderoga stakes at Belmont Park. She returned April 14 at Aqueduct Racetrack and won the Plenty of Grace Stakes before taking the May 27 Mount Vernon Stakes back at Belmont.

The only graded stakes winner in the field, Fifty Five has not won at that level since taking the Florida Oaks (G3T) at Tampa Bay Downs in 2017. The consistent mare has only finished off the board once—in the 2017 Sands Point Stakes (G2T)—and has accumulated $785,038 in earnings with a record of 9-3-5 from 18 starts.

Seven challengers are slated to line up in the 1 1/16-mile turf contest for fillies and mares 3 and older, with Its a Journey a main-track-only entrant to be coupled with Sweet Maggie Mae for trainer Marcos Zulueta should the race come off the turf.

Lael Stable's Jehozacat, who finished second in the May 26 Miss Liberty Stakes at Monmouth Park last out, will be seeking her first stakes win. The 4-year-old Tapit filly, trained by Arnaud Delacour, won a March 13 allowance optional claiming race over firm turf at Tampa Bay by 5 3/4 lengths but was eased in the 2018 Florida Oaks in her only graded attempt.

Main Line Racing Stables' Notapradaprice comes into Tuesday's test off a score in a Laurel Park allowance optional claiming race April 28, but the Paddy O'Prado mare's best win is at the allowance level. She is trained by John Servis, whose brother Jason Servis has entered Arch of Troy off a win at Monmouth Park. The Archarcharch mare has finished in the top three in her past nine starts at five tracks.
