Sue's Fortune wins the 2018 Adirondack Stakes at Saratoga Race Course

Fortune Farm's homebred Sue's Fortune, last summer's Adirondack Stakes (G2) winner, looks to add to her consistent record in the $150,000 Victory Ride Stakes (G3) July 5 at Belmont Park. Five 3-year-old fillies are entered for the 6 1/2-furlong feature.

The Jump Start  filly trained by Jeremiah Englehart has won three of five starts. Her lone off-the-board finish came when she stretched out to a mile in the Frizette Stakes (G1) back in October, finishing sixth. Sue's Fortune last finished second by three-quarters of a length to Brad-Cox trained Break Even in the June 9 Jersey Girl Stakes at Belmont, just missing the undefeated frontrunner.

"It was just the plan for her last time as the Brad Cox filly was pretty fast and got to the lead very easily," said Englehart's assistant Axelle Angeliaume. "She could go to the lead, if she needs to, but she doesn't have to."

Sue's Fortune has won from both on and off the pace in two starts at the Victory Ride distance.

First Row Partners' Royal Charlotte is 3-for-3 since debuting in March, with each start at six furlongs. Chad Brown trains the daughter of Cairo Prince  and last sent her out to a rallying victory in the May 27 Hystericalady Stakes at Monmouth Park, where she scored by 2 1/2 lengths after turning four wide into the stretch.

Arindel's homebred Cookie Dough is making her second start since moving to trainer Kiaran McLaughlin. The Brethren  filly backs up to sprinting for the first time since winning the seven-furlong FTBOA Florida Sire Susan's Girl Stakes by 6 1/2 lengths in September.

Cox will send out Steve Landers' Peruvian Appeal, who enters off two sprint victories in allowance optional-claiming company.

Don Chatlos will saddle OXO Equine's maiden winner Brill, who has yet to break through in stakes company, although she is grade 1-placed after finishing third in last year's Chandelier Stakes at Santa Anita Park for trainer Jerry Hollendorfer. The daughter of Medaglia d'Oro—Hung the Moon was a $1 million purchase from The July Sale in 2017, Fasig-Tipton's Kentucky sale of select yearlings, where she was consigned by Bluewater Sales.
