Six fillies exiting the June 16 Trillium Stakes (G3) at Woodbine return July 13 for the $125,000 Ontario Matron Stakes (G3) at the same 1 1/16-mile trip, including the 7-1 winner, Miss Mo Mentum.

Third-place finisher Dixie Moon, winner of last year's Woodbine Oaks Presented by Budweiser, also returns for trainer Catherine Day Phillips, who has another ace up her sleeve. Dixie Moon's stablemate Katie Baby, another daughter of Curlin , will break from post 8 as the 5-2 morning-line choice.

Anderson Farms Ontario's homebred Katie Baby, a fleet 4-year-old, makes just her second start beyond seven furlongs in the Ontario Matron. A winner at seven panels in her seasonal bow May 5, she comes into the race off a closing second in the 6 1/2-furlong Hendrie Stakes (G3).

"She's coming into the race in good order, and she's training very well," said Day Phillips of Katie Baby. "She ran a tremendous race in the Hendrie, a little bit of an unlucky trip. We're looking forward to seeing her run again. I look forward to a big race from her.

"I wish they weren't running against each other, but that's the way it is. It's in both of their best interests to run here. My heart and loyalty in the middle of it doesn't factor into the decision. They live in the stall next to each other, have the same groom, the same exercise rider. I wouldn't say they're best friends by any means, but they do have a lot in common."

Another thing the two have in common is that they'll both have to run down the early pace, which will likely be set by Hillsbrook Farms' Sense of Bravery or Chiefswood Stable's Lunar Garden.
