Hinkle Farms went to $325,000 during the July 8 Fasig-Tipton July Selected Horses of Racing Age Sale to re-acquire the stakes-winning Orb  filly Orbolution.

The 4-year-old was bred in Kentucky by the Hinkles and purchased by Frank Brothers, agent for Starlight Racing, for $370,000 at the 2016 Keeneland September Yearling Sale.

Orbolution was sent through the sales ring Monday as Hip 521 by Taylor Made Sales Agency.

Trained by Todd Pletcher, the filly earned $164,150 with her victories including the P. G. Johnson Stakes at Saratoga Race Course. She also finished third in the Miss Grillo Stakes (G3T) at Belmont Park.

Orbolution was produced from the grade 3-placed Horse Chestnut mare My Rachel, also the dam of multiple stakes-placed Rachel's Ready and Firehouse Red, the dam of grade 3 winner Draft Pick. Orbolution's second dam, the Forty Niner mare Preserver, produced grade 1 winner Jack Milton  and grade 3 winner Peace Preserver.

"We really loved her as a yearling and she proved herself on the track," said Anne Archer Hinkle, an owner and director of operations for Hinkle Farms. "We didn't know if we would have a shot to buy her back today. If we get a foal out of her nearly as nice as she was as a yearling we'll be fine."

Tom Hinkle said the family wanted to continue to be involved with the female family, noting My Rachel is now 17.

"We want to stay in the family and we're really glad to have her back," Hinkle said. "(The price) was higher than we intended but we think in the long run it was a good decision."
