Alberta sire Declassify was represented by his first winner July 26 when Dark Cloud Racing's homebred Tucker Time aired by seven lengths in a four-furlong maiden special weight at Marquis Downs.
Trained by Courtney Ross and ridden by Neville Stephenson, the 2-year-old Alberta-bred made short work of two rivals. He was away alertly, vied for the lead in upper stretch with pacesetter Cocos Golden Charm, and drew off to win easily. The final time was :48.13 after opening fractions of :23.21 and :35.34 on a track rated good.
Tucker Time, who was making his debut, is the second foal out of the Golden Missile mare Heart's of Gold, who also produced stakes-placed Unified Hearts, a filly by Unification. The mare foaled a full sister to Tucker Time named Secret Agent Gal in 2018.
Declassify, a son of Orientate, won the 2014 Triple Bend Stakes (G1) for owner Kaleem Shah and Hall of Fame trainer Bob Baffert. He retired in 2016 to stand at Stone Ranches, where his 2019 fee was $2,000.
Bred in Kentucky by Gaines-Gentry Thoroughbreds out of the Tale of the Cat mare Mir Cat, Declassify is a half brother to April 6 Excelsior Stakes (G3) winner Life's a Parlay, a son of Uncle Mo campaigned by Repole Stable and St. Elias Stable and trainer Todd Pletcher. Mir Cat produced a colt by American Pharoah in 2018 and a son of Into Mischief in 2019.
