Arnold to Send Out a Pair in Jessamine Stakes

A field of 10 lightly raced 2-year-old fillies has been entered for the $150,000 JPMorgan Chase Jessamine Stakes (gr. IIIT) that highlights the Oct. 9 card at Keeneland Race Course.
Keeneland-based trainer Rusty Arnold has two entrants in the 1 1/16 mile turf test with Regis Racing's Zinzay and G. Watts Humphrey's homebred Pretty Fancy.
A daughter of Smart Strike —Music Room (by Unbridled's Song ) who won a 1 1/16-mile maiden special weight at Saratoga Race Course in her debut, Zinzay is owned by the Regis Racing Stable of Nat Rea. Rea, a Canadian businessman who made his foray into the horse industry a year ago, bought Zinzay for $700,000 from the Hartley/DeRenzo Thoroughbreds consignment to the Fasig-Tipton Florida select 2-year-olds in training sale earlier this year.
In breaking her maiden, Zinzay tracked 4-5 favorite Hillhouse High in second before moving to the fore in mid-stretch under jockey Joe Rocco Jr.
Pretty Fancy, a daughter of Lemon Drop Kid produced from the Tiznow mare Deal of the Decade, was third on the grass at Ellis Park before breaking her maiden going 6 1/2 furlongs over the unique undulating turf course at Kentucky Downs.
The most accomplished filly in the race is Richies Party Girl, with two wins from four starts and earnings of $81,687. A daughter of Any Given Saturday —Very Special Lite (by Majestic Light), Richies Party Girl is owned by Richard Raven and Wesley Ward, who also trains the filly. After breaking her maiden in her second start, Richies Party Girl was shipped to France where she finished fourth in a group III stake. Upon her return to the U.S., Richies Party Girl overcame a bumping incident at the start to win an allowance turf at Churchill Downs.
