The Malibu Moon filly in the ring at the New York-Bred Sale

A Malibu Moon  filly established a record price for the Fasig-Tipton New York-Bred Yearlings Sale when purchased by Larry Best's OXO Equine for $775,000 late during the Aug. 12 final session.

Bred by Oak Bluff Stables and Christophe Clement, the filly was consigned by Winter Quarter Farm as agent for Oak Bluff Stables. Produced from Savvy Sassy, a two-time winner and $100,600-earner by Street Sense , the filly is from the female family of Southdale, a multiple grade 3 winner and sire, grade 3 winner Plainsman, and multiple grade 3 winner and sire Iron Courage.
