With a 3-year-old, I don't get out to the movies much. Best movie I saw this year was on Netflix - Senna, the documentary on the legendary Brazilian Formula 1 driver Ayrton Senna, who died tragically during the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix.

I'm biased to the Dodgers - Dodger Stadium. Plus add in the legendary voice of Vin Scully, it can't be beat.

Has to be the ’70s!

As a former cross-country runner (in high school), I prefer route horses.

Jim Gagliano

James L. Gagliano became president and chief operating officer of The Jockey Club, the breed registry for all Thoroughbred horses in North America, on January 1, 2010. He had served as executive vice president and chief administrative officer for The Jockey Club since June 2005.

I actually never go to the movies. But I became addicted to “Homeland.” Over the New Year’s break, I watched every episode.

Non racing: Barclay’s Center. Racing: Monmouth Park.

In any era, the last one.

Route (turf). This is where jockey’s talents really shine. “Samyn on the Green” was one of my favorites.

Claire Novak

Eclipse Award winner Claire Novak became a racing fan at the age of nine and since then has melded her love for human-interest journalism and the equine breed into a successful turf-writing career. She covers racing for the Blood-Horse; her work also appears at ESPN.com and has been featured by other esteemed publications, including The New York Times.

Fast & Furious 6, because it was so fake it was awesome, and also because I think I was an illegal street car racer in another life. P.S. The Great Gatsby was so overrated, and I’ll never get those hours back.

Santa Anita Park. So majestic and beautiful, and I love the Art Deco design.

Do I have to pick just one? I hate anything from the ’70s- ’90s.

Definitely route horses, the longer the better. I’m a huge fan of closers, especially when you think they’re never going to get there and they kick on the afterburners to blow by in the stretch! Go watch Calidoscopio win the Breeders’ Cup Marathon and the Brooklyn Handicap; you’ll see what I mean.

Kenny Mayne

Kenny Mayne is a sports journalist and comedian for ESPN. He is the host of “Kenny Mayne's Wider World of Sports” on ESPN.com and a weekly contributor to “Sunday NFL Countdown” with his weekly “Mayne Event” segment. Dirty Wars. Well told documentary that makes no judgments. Tense like Hurt Locker.

The site of the Breeders' Cup. Favorite two sporting days each year.

The 1640s were rough. Let women be women.

My favorite event is the downhill 6 1/2 furlongs on grass (and briefly dirt) at Santa Anita. Favorite horse growing up was Chinook Pass (world-record holder). Sprinters
